Hunter Solar Solutions holds a title not many installers in the country can claim: Newcastle’s first Enphase Platinum Installer, and the largest Enphase installer in the region, with thousands of microinverters and hundreds of batteries going in each year. That kind of volume with a single brand tends to come with a genuine depth of product knowledge that’s hard to fake.
What makes that scale more reassuring rather than less is that Hunter Solar Solutions doesn’t subcontract any of it out. Every installation is completed by their own team, from the first site visit through to commissioning. The business is run by Luke and Michael, who between them bring 35 years of electrical experience and 18 years in solar specifically, and who’ve overseen installations up to one megawatt in size across NSW.
Their product selection reflects that same hands on approach. Alongside Enphase, they work with Tindo, Suntech, Sigenergy, Fronius and Tesla Powerwall, choosing equipment they’d be comfortable installing on their own homes and which they have seen perform in Newcastle.
The quoting process is built around an obligation free assessment with recommendations about what the property actually needs, rather than the biggest system they can sell. For homeowners who’ve dealt with pushy solar sales calls before, that more measured approach tends to be the thing that sticks with them.
Hunter Solar Solutions has backed up its reputation with a serious volume of trust online, with 343 five star Google reviews and counting, which is not a small feat in an industry where most installers are lucky to crack double figures. If you’re after an established, proven local team in Newcastle, Hunter Solar Solutions is a must to speak with.
Reviews
After speaking with a number of solar and battery companies, Hunter Solar Solutions stood out for being honest, knowledgeable and focused on what was actually right for my household rather than trying to sell me the biggest system possible. I spent a lot of time researching battery systems, VPPs and different installation options, and the team was always happy to answer questions and explain the pros and cons without any pressure. Their recommendations were based on my usage and needs, not their sales targets. The installation process was smooth, communication was excellent, and the workmanship was first class. It’s refreshing to deal with a company that does what they say they’ll do and genuinely puts the customer first. Highly recommend Hunter Solar Solutions to anyone considering solar or battery storage.
My Nan used them, so my Dad used them, so I used them (I did shop around at the time, not the cheapest and not the dearest, but know their stuff) and I went back to them for my battery 5 years after initial solar install. Cannot fault Wayne and the team at Hunter Solar Solutions, I recommend them to anyone looking into getting solar products. The customer service is genuine to your needs not just trying to sell you as much as they can. Easy to deal with and meet expectations set.
Tindo who is Australia's only manufacturer of solar panels recommended Hunter Solar Solutions to me when I enquired about their product. The team at HSS was very professional and the install process was smooth. I have a tile roof so I was worried about damage during installation. An independent roofer inspected my roof after the install and he was very happy with HSS, the one cracked tile was repaired by the installers very well and the roofer was impressed. I had a 10 KWH Tindo panel system installed with a Tesla Powerwall 3. The system is working really well and we are now purchasing electric cars to take full advantage of the system. On sunny days I am exporting 50KWHs of excess solar energy to the grid. This is enough to fully charge most EVs if you are home that day and get 500km of driving range. I highly recommend HSS.
